PSICOPATATA

Another year, another lighting project! This is a short project that tries to give an different take on the famous sequence from the film "Psycho" (1960) by Alfred Hitchcock using Mr. & Ms. Potato Head as the main characters. I didn't have a reference to match 1:1, in this case I wanted to go for a high contrast look with the shadows and lights. My biggest references were paintings form Francisco Goya and Caravaggio. For this project I created a light rig that assures the continuity across shots. As always I tried to highlight the features of the characters, give them shape and make them pop out from the background. Lastly, for The non-Spanish speakers, The name of the project is a wordplay between psicópata (psychopath) and potato (patata) in Spanish.
